Author Guidelines

Since this is a peer-reviewed journal aimed at disseminating the highest possible quality work, every submission made to the journal will be reviewed by a minimum of three reviewers from the same or allied field of expertise. Their critical inputs shall be considered before the handling Editor can arrive at a decision. Since peer-reviewing enhances the quality of submissions, every submission shall be checked for scientific rigour, authenticity of the reported work and novelty. The journal’s sole aim is to enhance scientific research and to provide a portal for researchers to share their discoveries and viewpoints with the scientific world. Please refer to the Journal Policies for more information.

Language, ethical standards and quality: All articles must be written in English and must contain original work. The authors must attest that they have carried out the work and give in writing that the work does not contain plagiarism in any form (including self-plagiarism) or fabricated data. If the authors find that their data is erroneous after acceptance of the paper (in case there are any mistakes in the formatting or data), they must write to the Editor-in-chief and report the flaws in their manuscript. The Editor shall permit the authors to write an addendum if any omissions or mistakes are found in the manuscript after the article is published. If the work is found to be plagiarized or flawed / fabricated – and this is reported to the Editors by another person, the Editor-in-chief shall request the authors to provide a written explanation. If the explanation is found to be satisfactory and no malpractice or ethical violations are found, the paper shall not be retracted. Otherwise, the erroneous paper shall be retracted and the authors shall be notified about it. The retracted paper will be retained online and marked as “retracted”. Any money paid to the journal towards open access publication (APC) will not be refunded to the authors.

Any experiment involving hazardous materials (eg. poisons, toxins and radioactive materials), human samples or experimental animals should have been cleared by the Institutional Ethical Committee and the reference number for the same must be clearly indicated in the methodology section of the manuscript. Failure to do so will lead to rejection of the article. Preliminary findings such as in silico studies may be considered only if the work is novel or of exceptional quality.

Authorship criteria: All authors involved in the paper must acknowledge that they have contributed to the work and that they have read the final version of the manuscript that was submitted to the journal. Ghost authors are not encouraged and all authors must write to the Editor (via email) and acknowledge that they have contributed to the work.

The Corresponding author shall be the sole point of contact with the handling Editor. Queries from the other authors regarding the status of the manuscript shall not be entertained. Any other reasons listed by the authors should be justified.

Article preparation guidelines

  1. All documents must be submitted as Word files in the journal portal and the email address of the corresponding author must be mentioned. Kindly use an institutional affiliation address as far as possible.
  2. The names and affiliations of the authors must be listed in the title page with all necessary details such as - corresponding author details, keywords and word count.
  3. The manuscript must be formatted in Times New Roman font 12 size, with 2.0 line spacing.
  4. Mention line numbers continuously throughout the manuscript.

  6. All figures and tables must have captions and a brief description/overview of what the author is trying to communicate within the figure legends itself. The figure legends should be standalone text and must clearly explain the experiment and the findings that the authors want readers to understand from the given image.
  7. The corresponding author shall take responsibility on behalf of all the co-authors and make sure that all the authors have made significant contributions to the paper. Adding ghost authors is not permissible and hence, if the journal comes to know that the names of authors have been added without their consent, the paper will be rejected outright and resubmission will not be encouraged.
  8. Criteria for authorship: Changes to the order of authors during the review process must be notified to the editor with proper clarification (in writing).
  9. Acceptance of the paper: The corresponding author will be notified about the editor’s decision and the tentative date of online publication. A DOI number or link will be provided when the paper comes online.
  10. The corresponding author will receive a typeset of proof in PDF and must point out minor changes. No major changes are allowed during the proofing stage, such as addition of any new data, modification of existing data or removal of significant portions of the text.

Title

The title must be concise and Informative

Author information

The given name(s) and surname(s) of all authors must be mentioned clearly. Indicate the affiliation of each author with a superscript numerical letter next to the name and before the affiliations. If authors from multiple institutions or different parts of the world are involved in a paper must include their current affiliation.

Highlights

Mention the findings and novelty of the work in 4-5 bullet points.

Introduction

A short overview of the field, identification of the research problem, and the need for the study must be mentioned clearly. References should be cited within the text. APA style should be followed for both in-text references as well as list of references.

Materials and Methods

All submitted articles shall be subjected to rigorous peer-review for quality, scientific rigour, validity of statistical analyses carried out, analytical procedures / methods chosen for the work, instrumentation used (and conditions used for data acquisition) and the quality of the materials employed. Any analytical technique that is used must be reported in sufficient detail to allow replication of the work, should anyone wish to follow the protocol and repeat the experiment. The procedure followed by the authors (if it is a previously published protocol) must be cited. Any modifications made to a protocol (followed by the authors and cited) must be explicitly indicated.

Results and Discussion

The key findings should be discussed succinctly and the novelty of the findings should be highlighted. Arguments can be made for or against earlier/erstwhile reports from published literature and those references should be cited.

Authors’ contribution statement

The following list of contributions can be criteria for authorship and the contribution of each author must be indicated clearly from the list provided below:

  1. Conceptualization of the work, original idea and formulation of the work
  2. experimental design and methodology
  3. investigation / experimental work and procuring data
  4. data curation, validation, analyses, statistical evaluation and data interpretation
  5. providing resources, reagents, chemicals and lab space (in the capacity of Principal Investigator or collaborator)
  6. writing the original draft, reviewing, editing

Funding

If any funds / grants from governmental / private agencies were utilized, the source of funding must be disclosed.

Acknowledgment

Acknowledge the individuals/institutions who assisted with the research but were not included as authors.
