This research article provides a systematic review of the applications of the Internet of Things (IoT) in precision agriculture in India, with a partic- ular emphasis on data analytics. The study’s objective is to investigate the implications for agricultural productivity, sustainability, and farmer live- lihoods, as well as to identify critical key trends, challenges, and oppor- tunities associated with the adoption of IoT in Indian farming scenarios. The study approach incorporates a full literature review, data collecting, and theme analysis to synthesize current research and provide empirical evidence of the level of adoption of the Internet of Things in Indian ag- riculture. The findings reveal a progressive evolution in IoT applications, with a growing emphasis on advanced data analytics and smart farming practices. However, widespread adoption encounters barriers like as high start-up expenses, limited technical expertise, and regional disparities in infrastructure and connectivity. The study emphasizes the beneficial ef- fects of IoT on agricultural productivity, sector-specific adoption patterns, and farmer perceptions towards technology adoption. Policy implications are discussed, offering actionable recommendations for promoting inclu- sive and sustainable agricultural development through IoT adoption
